WHO WE ARE : OUR HISTORY
Honoring Our Past, Serving Our Future
Riverside Baptist Church in Miami, Florida, was established on October 13, 1921, in the Riverside area near downtown Miami. The church remained downtown for over fifty years, experiencing significant growth through the 1960s. In the late 1960s, demographic shifts led to a decline in membership, prompting the congregation to relocate to the suburb of Kendall in 1974, where it continues to serve today.
The original Riverside Baptist Church building in downtown Miami was later repurposed and became the Manuel Artime Community Center and Theater. The City of Miami purchased the building in 1975, transforming it into a community center that continues to serve the local population.
Today, Riverside Baptist Church is a multicultural congregation, reflecting the diverse community of Miami. The church is dedicated to reaching out to the community and city for Christ, one person at a time.
