Connect Groups at Riverside

Most of our classes are tackling the same material but geared for different age groups.

For every Christian, a deep knowledge of the Word helps make the difference between a shallow faith and a life of trust and obedience. This kind of faith does not come from information but through the transformation when you "let God's Word dwell in you."

Explore the Bible helps participants understand the Bible passage within its larger biblical context. Every session leads to an application so that each person is moved towards being transformed into the likeness of Christ, being challenged to practice God's truth in everyday life.

Each month the book being studied changes.

Bible Studies for Life helps people know Christ, live in community, and impact the culture and world around them. This series offers balanced studies by topic, focuses on real-life issues that let people see how Jesus is the answer to their greatest need--how the Bible meets their life right where they are. Topics change on a monthly basis.

Volunteer Room, Salt and Spice (Women, ages 30+): Has it ever dawned on you that nothing has ever dawned on God? He knew before the world began that His people would face hardship, so He gave us His Word. The Book of Ephesians is a survival manual—it equips believers to thrive in a world that hates the message of Jesus Christ. Paul the Apostle writes to encourage believers to live well—we've been lifted from the graveyard of sin and called to shout the gospel into the darkened world. A video study by J.D. Greear. Led by Maury Fernandez.

"Disciples Path: The Journey"

There's a disciple-maker inside every Christian.

When a baby is born, people immediately spring into action to clean, check, bathe, and warm the infant. All this is done in order to ensure that this new creation is well on his or her way to a life of growth, health, and maturity.

But when someone is born into Christ, we usually just congratulate them and send them into the world. As a result, churches are full of baby Christians who never fully developed spiritually, even if they were born decades earlier.

Disciple's Path: The Journey provides an intentional one-year mission toward maturity in Christ. It's a purposeful process covering four volumes, 13 sessions each. The Journey was created to nurture believers into disciples who make disciples.

Volume One will begin on Sunday, March 5th in room 210 and will be led by Anani Miro.

"Life on Mission"

Approximately 259 million people in the United States and Canada do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Life on Mission equips believers to live a missional lifestyle. A life lived on mission isn't a supersized version of an extraordinary Spirit-filled life. It isn't reserved only for top-level Christian risk takers who have mastered the art of obedience. Living a life on mission is the story of everyday, ordinary believers leveraging whatever levels of influence they have to bring unbelievers to faith in Christ.

This Bible study will not make you into an evangelist. However, it will invite you to connect with God's mission and equip you with tools to live a life that matters.

This five-week study will begin on Sunday, March 5th, in room 206 and led by Johnny Oliver. There is a $9.00 charge for the workbook. So we can adequately prepare, please sign up in the Foyer by Sunday, February 26th.

"Bible Studies for Life: Kids" (Riverside Park Children)

East Wing: Younger Children (Babies-Kindergarten): A Christ focused study for children. Each Bible story points to Jesus and teaches specific ways kids can apply the concepts they have learned to their lives. Led by various leaders.

"Children's Worship" (Riverside Park Children)

Room 215 (The Dock): Older Children (First through Fifth Graders): This is a time for children to worship God like kids! Kids will worship through high-energy, child-centered, God-focused worship. Each experience is theme/topical-based Bible stories, dynamic learning activities, music, videos, and games. Led by various leaders.

Sunday Evening @ 6:00 PM

Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God

This study is a 13-week study written by Henry Blackaby, Richard Blackaby, and Claude King and based on the Experiencing God book. Through an examination of biblical and contemporary illustrations, participants will understand and apply seven realities of experiencing God. This study will also help participants understand how to experience God as a church. The classes will be on Sundays at 6:00 PM in Room 214 beginning Sunday, March 5th. The cost of the book is $16.00 and paid at the first class. Bob and Allyson Owers will lead the class. To register for the class contact the church office before the class.

MasterLife is a discipleship study of four books (6 sessions each) that helps believers in Jesus to move toward spiritual maturity. It is appropriate for both new Christians and seasoned believers in Jesus Christ. In addition to gaining victory over areas of weakness, participants will be encouraged to master living in the Word, prayer, personal purity, witnessing, and other key disciplines of faith. The cost for the books is $10.00 each; due at the first class. Classes are offered throughout the year. Dates will be posted when a new class is available.
